Irene Verburg, Dutch mezzosoprano, voice teacher and conductor, holds her Master of Music in Classical Singing with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She was awarded the Talent Grant for excellent students, provided by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, enabling her to continue her studies in New York. Other awards and scholarships include the Bayreuth Scholarship from the Wagner Society and a grant from the International Vocal Arts Institute. Irene has performed with orchestras in oratorios and major song cycles, as well as in leading opera roles on international stages.

Irene Verburg worked as a voice teacher at the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatoire. As a permanent vocal coach with the National Choirs, she has vocally prepared countless concerts over the years. She collaborates with the choir and individual singers to cultivate a flexible and distinctive sound, finely attuned to the concert repertoire and the artistic vision of renowned maestros such as Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Iván Fischer, or composers like Jörg Widmann, Lera Auerbach, and Unsuk Chin.
Since 2021 she holds the position of Co-artistic director of Dutch Vocal Talent Foundation.
