What the choral and vocal world has to offer – where to go and how to find useful online tools

Are you thinking about where to take your choir / ensemble or where to travel to yourself to broaden your horizon and get inspired? Do you know where to find free online resources? Would you like to learn about a choral association’s work with schools and children?

This project-presentation session will offer you a broad window into the choral world:
You will discover two exemplary festivals, members of the Choral Festival Network, the European Youth Choir Festival in Basel and the Black Forest Voices festival in Kirchzarten, you will hear how the Flemish organisation Koor&Stem works with schools and children, you will learn more about events and activities offered by the European Choral Asociation and IFCM, you will find out about online tools such as the EC-TV archive of the EC festival in Ljubljana or or the Musica repertoire database, and you will learn about how to become our Friend.

Speakers: Sonja Greiner (DE, moderator), Kathrin Renggli (CH), Nina Ruckhaber (DE), Valerie Bruynseels (Koor&Stem), Jean Sturm (Musica), Ana Patricia Carbajal (MX) & Pelin Küçükerdoğan (TR) (IFCM), Susanna Kantelinen (FI)

Sonja Greiner (DE) is the Secretary General of the European Choral Association and a member of the Board of the World Youth Choir Foundation.

After working as the manager of the International Chamber Choir Competition and the festival Musica Sacra International in Marktoberdorf (Germany), she started working for Europa Cantat in 1995.

She was a member and treasurer of both the European and the International Music Council between 2000 and 2013 and was elected Honorary Member of the International Music Council in 2015.
